What You Get From an $80 Massage
For most people, money is the biggest obstacle to getting regular massage. There, I said it. We don’t like to talk about money, it’s supposed to be a private issue. But we are addressing it head on. Regular massage is a considerable budget item, and it’s important to acknowledge that.
I know this because:
I walk the walk and get regular massage.
I have a kid and a budget, so if I don’t plan for it, massage doesn’t happen.
But if I expect you to jiggle the numbers and budget $80 for a massage every week, month, or quarter, it’s my job to tell you what you’re buying. So here it is, what you get from a 1 hour, $80 massage.
Clarity in Pricing
What we charge is clearly listed the website.
Any gratuity is never expected.
We also offer clients that come at least every 4 weeks a $5 discount on their next visit. If you make massage a regular part of your budget, we appreciate it and reward you!

A Full Hour
Balance and Peace is where an hour is always 60 minutes, this is our promise to you. The clock doesn’t start until we walk in the room and actually begin the massage.That’s not the case for every business. Massage Envy’s hour is 50 minutes.Even some full service spas operate on a 50-minute hour. But in my office, 30, 60, and 90 minute treatments last exactly as long as indicated. (Unless you’re late, then I may have to adjust accordingly.)
Ease of Scheduling
Scheduling tends to be the second biggest obstacle to getting regular massage. We never think of scheduling massage at a time that is actually convenient to call.

(We may need to play a bit of phone tag since I may need to call you back between clients or when I’m able to check the messages at the office.) Email is also a great option to scheduling an appointment.
Attention
You get our full attention. For 1 hour, you are the superstar. You are the reason we’re in the room. Need silence? We can do that.Want us to spend the full hour on your feet? Sure. Warm pillow? Cool pillow? Not a problem.You get your own full attention. No phone. No demands. Just you.
Experience
Combined we have over 30 years of experience. True story. We have no reason to embellish our experience. We’ve also had hundreds of hours continuing education. They were all just prep for your massage.A couple of years ago we hosted a Nationally Certified Prenatal Massage program. I’d venture to say our office offers the most therapists with this caliber of advanced training in prenatal massage. We also specialize in orthopedic massage,
Clinical prudence
We won’t practice any techniques that are unsafe for you and your health condition.
We also don’t practice modalities that we don’t have advanced training in. We take our training and the massage we provide seriously. Just because there’s a new technique featured during the Olympics doesn’t mean we’ll offer it before we have the proper training.
NOTHING takes the place of in person, hands-on, advanced training. Yes, it’s a pain to get to classes from this area, but it’s no excuse to offer services we are not trained in. Your safety is our utmost concern.
Parking
We have a dedicated parking lot. There is no stress fighting to find a parking spot and worrying about being late if you can’t find something close enough. We’re located close enough to downtown to be convenient, but we are far enough away that special events don’t affect us. Have you tried to find parking during Friday Fest or any event near Pier Park? Forget about it, the stress of parking is not worth the massage!
A focused experience
We are massage therapists offering massage in a massage office. That’s what we do. There’s nothing else going on here. No loud clacking of chiropractic tables. No hair dryers or the smell of nail polish. There isn’t a reception area full of people waiting their turn.When massage is the only thing we focus on, massage is what you'll do best.
Referrals
A massage with me gets you connections with all the practitioners I know. And that’s a lot of people. If massage isn’t helping your tendonitis/backache/anxiety, I’ll help you find the right acupuncturist, PT or counselor for you.
High quality massage oil
We’re concerned about the poor ingredients in many lotions and oils. Most of us prefer to use coconut oil which has amazing health benefits for your skin. We also use specialty products that are high quality and top of the line.
No nickel and diming for extras.
Each of our therapists has their own signature. I prefer a heated neck pillow and hot stones. Whatever we use to make the experience unique and awesome, it’s included in the price.
Do you like the smell of aromatherapy with your massage? We have that. No extra charge.
Do you like the heated neck roll? No extra charge.
You get to support a small local business
It’s just us! No conglomerate. No fancy management structure or corporate set up. Just a few little massage therapists, making a living, trying to provide for their children and participating in the same communities she serves. There are fewer and fewer businesses that can stay afloat in an era of big box stores and amazon. When you pay $80 for a massage, you can be certain that money is staying in the local economy.
